Sarina Russo Apprenticeship Services is an Australian Apprenticeships Centre (an Australian Government funded initiative) with offices located throughout Queensland and Victoria. We're a one stop shop for all your Australian Apprenticeships needs, providing free services, advice and assistance to all employers, job seekers, trainees, apprentices and other interested parties.

What are Australian Apprenticeships?

'Australian Apprenticeships' is a term that covers both Apprenticeships and Traineeships. They are very similar, both offer training on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both and lead to an nationally recognised and accredited qualification. The main differences are:

Apprenticeships
Trade based occupations, completed over 3 or 4 years full-time
(eg. mechanic, hairdresser, chef, carpenter, brick layer)
Traineeships
All non-trade based occupations, completed over 1 or 2 years full / part time
(eg. real estate, finance, retail, multimedia, local government)

Australian Apprenticeships are 'competency based'. This means it may be possible for an Australian Apprentice to complete their training sooner if they have reached the skill level required. It is even possible to start an Australian Apprenticeship while still at school.
