Tradeapprentices.com.au to manage the Out-of-Trade Register

The Out-of-Trade Register is a key government strategy to assist apprentices and trainees whose training contracts have been cancelled and are looking to re-enter their chosen apprenticeship or traineeship, especially those affected by recent events. 

 

The register is also an effective tool for ALL employers looking to employ an out-of-trade apprentice or trainee to view a range of prospective employees.

 

The department will manage the out-of-trade register through their dedicated web site at www.tradeapprentices.com.au where employers will be able to view individual profiles including photos of prospective apprentices and trainees. 

 

The tradeapprentices.com.au service is being delivered by the Group Training Association Queensland & Northern Territory Inc (GTAQNT) and is provided free of charge to both displaced apprentices and trainees, and employers looking to employ an apprentice or trainee.

 

Who is eligible for placement on the Out-of-Trade register?

 

To be eligible for assistance from tradeapprentices.com.au, apprentices and trainees will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • they must have a Queensland training contract that has been recently cancelled
  • apprentices and trainees on "approved" temporary stand down are not eligible
  • the apprenticeship/traineeship is from a targeted skills shortage area eg: Automotive, Construction, Engineering, Utilities

It would be appreciated if Australian Apprenticeship Centres (AAC) could promote the services of tradeapprentices.com.au to employers and those cancelled apprentices and trainees that meet the eligibility criteria to enable those apprentices and trainees complete their respective apprenticeship or traineeship.
